Installation and set-up

 

Installation is very straightforward and intuitive. All you need to do is follow the prompts and the to tell the installation routine where to put the files. This installation utility allows you to do either a stand-alone installation or a more complex Client/Server setup.

 

You will need to log-on as Administrator or as a user that has Administrative Rights (if using Windows NT, Windows 2000, XP, or Vista.) Windows 98 installation can log on as any user since MySQL does not run as a service.

 

Note: Do not try to install all the parts of a Client/Server setup from a single location. Install the database on the server AT the server. Install the client files at each client machine.

Windows 98 users will need to use a batch file to start PayMaster for Windows since the MySQL database cannot run as a service. Contact Support for a batch file customized for your system.

 

Windows VISTA users MUST logon as Administrator to have the MySQL database installs properly. In addition, we recommend Exploring the CD and right clicking on trafdir.exe and Project2.exe and setting the properties of these two binaries. Make sure both of these files are set to ‘Run as Administrator’ or the database will not run as a service.

 

There are three different types of installations.

 

This means PMW program and the data files ( MySQL database ) are on the same machine.
